Loctite Frekote 1-STEP 5l Release agent
Description
Properties
LOCTITE Frekote 1-STEP is an easy-to-use solvent-based polymer with anti-adnesis effect. It works perfectly in combination with composites:
- reinforced with glass fiber
- covered with gelcoat
- polyester
The agent is characterized by a short curing time and high thermal stability.
Benefits of using
- quick-drying
- guarantees a high-gloss finish without the need for polishing
- maximum use of the mold
- minimal stocking effect
- easy to use
Use
LOCTITE Frekote 1-STEP is used to reduce the adhesion of materials to other bodies. Already a thin layer of the agent guarantees a satisfactory effect and ensures the suitability of the sprayed mold for repeated use. It is used in the maintenance of molds and all types of formwork.

Instructions for use
- before using the product, clean the dust mold using dry air
- the agent should be applied using a low-pressure gun with a pressure set to 3 to 6 psi and an air atomization pressure of 35 to 50 psi
- a tip with a diameter of 1.3 cm should be used for spraying, and the process of applying the agent should be carried out from a distance of 20 to 25 cm
- the product should be applied systematically and perpendicular to the previous form (first layer vertically, second horizontally)
- 5 to 7 layers of the agent should be applied to the mold. When applying subsequent layers, there is no need to wait for the product to cure.
- before applying a layer of gelcoat, wait 20 to 30 minutes
Storage
Due to its flammability, the product must be stored in accordance with the currently applicable health and safety regulations. It must not be stored near oxidizing and flammable materials. The product should be stored in a tightly closed container in a dry and cool place. The optimum storage temperature is between 8 and 21 °C. Too low or too high a temperature can irreversibly change the properties of the product.
