The Mobilgear 600 XP Series are premium quality gear oils with exceptional extreme pressure and load capacity for use in all types of enclosed gears with circulating or splash lubrication systems. The Mobilgear 600 XP Series is designed to stay ahead of the changing needs of gear technology. Trends in the design of gearbox technology tend to downsize units with similar capacity. This increase in power density places increased demands on gear oils. Mobilgear 600 XP Series oils are formulated to meet these stresses by providing additional protection for gears, bearings and seals.
Mobilgear 600 XP Series oils are formulated to protect gear teeth from wear at their earliest stages. Microscopic wear, called micro-pitting, can lead to significant damage to the gear teeth. The Mobilgear 600 XP Series exceeds industry requirements for bearing wear protection. In fact, Mobilgear 600 XP Series provides up to 15 times better wear protection as measured by the standard FAG FE 8 test. The balanced formulation of Mobilgear 600 XP Series can provide maximum wear and corrosion protection while maintaining compatibility with common gearbox seal materials. Mobilgear 600 XP helps maintain the tightness of the gearbox seal, thereby preventing oil leakage and keeping contaminants out. By protecting gears, bearings and seals, Mobilgear 600 XP can improve equipment reliability and increase productivity.
Applications
Mobilgear 600 XP oils are suitable for a wide variety of industrial and marine applications, particularly in spur, helical, bevel and worm gear applications. Special uses include:
• Industrial gearboxes for conveyors, agitators, dryers, extruders, fans, mixers, presses, grinders, pumps (including oil well pumps), screeners, extruders and other heavy-duty applications
• Marine gears, including main propulsion, centrifuges, on-board equipment such as winches, windlasses, cranes, gears, pumps, winches and rudder bearings.
• Non-gear applications including shaft couplings, screws and heavily loaded plain and rolling bearings operating at low speeds
