Products such as double-sided foam tapes have a very wide range of applications. First of all, during assembly work, leveling or removing gaps between certain materials, as well as for suppressing excessive noise or eliminating the effects of vibrations.
The carrier for this type of product is foam, most often made of polyethylene. It has vibration/noise absorbing properties and adequate flexibility. The substance responsible for bonding/gluing is the adhesive mass. It is made of various types of binding substances, which are characterized by a very high coefficient of the so-called final adhesion. Thus, it ensures effective bonding of the foam with the material to which it adheres.
What types of double-sided foam tapes do we sell? What industries are they used in?
Double-sided foam tapes - types
We offer foam double-sided tape in many different versions. Most of the products have a very similar composition, i.e. polyurethane, from which the foam is made, as well as an adhesive mass, made of a substance with a high coefficient of final adhesion. The tapes differ from each other mainly:
- total thickness (we offer different tape thicknesses);
- elongation factors at break;
- less often with an adhesive.
The adhesive can be in a viscous, advanced or modified form. It all depends on the model. Either way - the double-sided foam tapes from our offer remain strong and suitable for construction and assembly purposes, among others.
Foam double-sided tape - application
The immediate adhesion of the foam tape makes it very often used wherever it is necessary to mount specific objects to given surfaces without the use of drilling, screws or nails. Our foam tapes are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They are resistant to a number of external factors. Among others on:
- ultraviolet radiation;
- the action of shocks and vibrations;
- water and moisture;
- coolness and hot weather;
- the effects of time and oxidation.
So what tasks can it support:
- assembly of wall mirrors;
- assembling furniture mirrors;
- service and installation of car mirrors;
- supporting installation of decorative panels;
- assembly of a skirting board, profile or decorative element.
Suppressing vibrations, removing gaps, assembling non-standard elements... There are many uses for double-sided tapes, sometimes they are useful when other solutions fail, especially in non-standard applications.
We make sure that our range maintains high durability. A good double-sided foam tape should be relatively resistant to stretching. This allows it to withstand a higher load and - when it comes to overload - stretch, but not to the point of breaking, to support the excessive load. Many models are resistant to stretching, it is worth checking the technical specification of the specific tape and using it as intended to hold what will be attached to it in an effective and safe way.
