Liquid thread sealing products by Loctite or thread sealant allow you to quickly and reliably seal metal pipe connections, including high-pressure, by accurately filling the space between the threads. Some are also approved for use in DVGW gas and KTW drinking water installations.

Types of modern thread sealing products

• one-component anaerobic products that cure by contact with metal after cutting off the air supply
• silicone sealants that cure by drawing moisture from the air. They can be used to seal metals, plastics and combinations of both of these materials.
• thread sealing thread - this is an innovative solution, the thread does not require hardening, immediately seals metal and plastic elements, approved for drinking water and gas.

Which thread sealing product should you choose?

It depends on the particular application, the materials to be sealed, the temperature of the pipe flowing, and the size of the pipe. When sealing plastic threads against metal ones, use silicone. For metal threads, LT-55 sealing thread or anaerobic thread adhesives can be used. Anaerobic products require more force to disassemble the connection.

How to use anaerobic thread adhesives?

Before using Loctite anaerobic thread sealing products, clean and degrease both threads and allow the degreaser to evaporate.
