Transformer oils are industrial oils, mineral oils and lubricants used primarily in various types of transformers. It serves as an insulator that has cooling functions.

It is a non-toxic liquid that does not settle on machine elements or transformers. Electrical insulating agent used to cool electrical devices. The product enables the transfer of heat from the source to the receiver, thanks to which it is also resistant to high temperatures, which can lead to its degradation or oxidation. It is efficient and its consistency is thick, which makes it able to work in high and low temperatures. The viscosity of the oil is very important, therefore it should not change dramatically under the influence of high temperature.

The product is effectively a pure insulator, has a high resistance to electric field strength, called dielectric strength. It is a liquid insulator that protects metal elements against corrosion and abrasion. It has a high flash point, making it safe during use. Some transformer oils contain antioxidants that improve the insulating properties.

Types of transformer oils:

  • petroleum oils
  • mineral oils
  • synthetic oils
  • natural oils

The agent contains strong carcinogens, e.g. polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), furans, dioxins.
