Veneer gluing to less noble materials is one of the procedures used in furniture making and not only. Furniture veneer glue allows you to effectively attach it to MDF or chipboard, ensuring a beautiful effect with a reduced financial contribution. Stone veneer can be attached to the wall, obtaining a decoration that is lighter than stone tiles. The glue is also useful on an ad hoc basis - for furniture veneer repair, which you can do yourself. In our offer you will find many preparations intended for permanent connection of such elements.

Veneer gluing

Veneer glue is a specialist type of glue that is designed for precise and permanent connection of thin layers of wood (veneer) with various surfaces, such as furniture boards, plywood or MDF. Veneer is a natural product that gives surfaces the aesthetic appearance of wood, which is why it is so important for the glue to meet high requirements for durability, flexibility and resistance to external conditions.
Another type of veneer is stone veneer, also known as rolled stone.

Types of veneer glues.

Veneer glues vary depending on their chemical composition, properties and application. The most common types are:

  1. Contact glues (e.g. Tensorgrip L14, L17, L27, WIKO contact glue):
    • Application: Mainly used where immediate bonding and high resistance to external factors are required. Ideal for gluing veneer to larger surfaces, such as countertops or large furniture elements.
    • Advantages: Fast bonding, high strength, resistance to moisture and temperature.
  2. Polyurethane adhesives (e.g. Wiko Ultimate Elongation, Korapur 125):
    • Application: They are called structural adhesives because they are perfect for assembly work in furniture and carpentry. They are suitable for connecting both large and very small elements.
    • Advantages: Possibility to adapt the adhesive to the physicochemical properties of the bonded surfaces, no organic solvents, excellent adhesion, high bonding strength, filling capacity, resistance to chemicals, changing weather conditions, vibrations, impacts.
  3. Polymer adhesives (e.g. Teroson MS 9120, Teroson MS 660, Melkib MS Polimer White):
    • Application: The total bonding time is about 24 hours, which is why polymer adhesives are used where immediate connection of elements is not required. Polymer adhesives are suitable for attaching stone veneers.
    • Advantages: High strength, resistance to external factors, odorless, colors that allow for aesthetic connections.

Veneer adhesives are widely used in the furniture industry, especially in the production of premium furniture, where aesthetics and durability are key. Veneer is used to finish furniture fronts, countertops, doors and other decorative elements. With the right glue, the veneer can be permanently connected to the substrate, which guarantees the longevity of the product and its aesthetic appearance.
Stone veneers are also used in construction - such cladding can decorate interiors (walls, fireplaces, furniture) and facades.

Choosing the right glue

The choice of glue for veneer should depend on several key factors:

  • Type of substrate: Different materials require different types of glue. For example, MDF may require a different glue than plywood or solid wood.
  • Conditions of use: Will the elements be exposed to moisture, temperature changes, will they be used inside or outside?
  • Method of application: Different glues have different application methods - from brush, through roller, to spray. It is important to choose the glue that is best suited to the production process.
  • Drying time and open time: Depending on the production needs, some glues may require a faster or slower setting.

Veneer contact glue

For durable and strong connections between decorative surfaces and popular wood-like materials, we recommend veneer contact glue. Remember the above tips. For example, Tensorgrip L27 is great for connecting plywood, wood elements or concrete, and Tensorgrip L17: aluminum, carbon fiber and gypsum board. If you are going for professional use, we recommend Tensorgrip contact glue for veneer in a large package.

Which glue for furniture veneer?

Fleeting veneer from kitchen furniture is a task that you can cope with with our preparations. This can also be a Tensorgrip product, e.g. in the form of a spray. Contact furniture veneer glue will dry after 1-2 minutes, but wait about 24 hours for full bonding.

Choose a veneer glue that meets your needs

Veneer glues are an essential element of every project where aesthetics, durability and quality of finish count. Thanks to the wide range of available products, it is possible to find the perfect solution for any type of project, from simple renovations to advanced furniture projects. By choosing the right veneer glue, you can ensure that the final product will be not only beautiful, but also durable and functional for many years.
In the Melkib online store, we have collected the best industrial glues used in various industries. We value them for their quality, strength of joints and ease of use. The use of specialist glue in furniture allows you to avoid visible joining methods, e.g. using nails.
On the other hand, everyone can benefit from our offer. Repairing damaged door veneer is a task that you can handle using one of our glues. You can do it at home, following the manufacturer's recommendations.
