Dolphs Aqua-Therm BC-380/870-D 20 L, Water-Based Epoxy Baking Varnish for winding impregnation, low VOC
Description
Dolphs Aqua-Therm BC-380/870-D 20L is a water-based epoxy baking varnish designed for impregnation and protection of components used in electrical equipment. Based on an epoxy emulsion, it delivers strong mechanical and electrical performance as well as chemical resistance, with a low VOC content. It is used in applications such as transformers, stators, rotors and windings.
Advantages and unique features
- Low VOC content and reduced environmental impact.
- High bond strength and excellent abrasion resistance.
- Superior moisture and water resistance.
- Excellent chemical resistance (including resistance to Freon R22).
- High flash point > 100°C – reduced fire risk.
- UL certified and included in an Electrical Insulation System (EIS) rated 180°C.
Properties and applications
- Product type: water-based epoxy baking varnish (impregnation).
- Applications: transformers, rotors, random wound coils, electric devices, hermetic duty motors, stators, laminations.
- Dilution: can be used as supplied or diluted by up to 70% with tap water, depending on the application.
- Preparation: mix in the original container before use; for dip tanks, mixing twice daily for a few minutes is recommended to reduce sedimentation.
- Compatibility: compatible with most magnet wire enamels; for polyurethane enamels, preliminary tests are recommended.
