DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 400 ml electro-insulating varnish for PCBs with UV tracer
Description
DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 400 ml electro-insulating varnish for PCBs with UV tracer
DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 400 ml is a fast-drying electro-insulating spray varnish designed to protect PCBs and electrical and electronic components. The product forms a transparent protective coating resistant to moisture, oil, abrasion and selected chemicals. The spray version is particularly useful where convenient spot application, service repair or protection of a smaller surface is required without setting up a dip-coating process.
Application
DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 is intended to protect electrical and electronic components against the influence of the working environment. According to the manufacturer, typical applications include printed circuit boards, coils, electrical connectors, slip rings, commutator ends, transformers, stators, bus bars, terminal boxes and soldered joints.
In practice, this product is suitable for service teams, maintenance departments, industrial electronics repair teams and engineers looking for a protective varnish for local protection or restoration of coating on an electrical component.
What makes DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 different
The key advantage of this version is the combination of the protective properties of AC-46 with convenient aerosol packaging. The varnish air dries quickly and parts may be handled after approximately 30 minutes. For optimum chemical and abrasion resistance, the manufacturer recommends allowing the coating to air dry for at least 24 hours.
The coating contains a UV tracer which helps verify whether the varnish has been applied correctly. This is important for PCBs, connectors and serviced components where the goal is not only to cover the surface, but also to check whether the varnish has actually been applied where required.
When to choose DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 400 ml
The 400 ml version is a good choice when an electro-insulating varnish is needed for repair, service work, prototyping, short production runs or local coating touch-ups. The aerosol format is more practical than a 5 l container when the application needs to be quick and limited to a selected part of the device.
If the varnish is to be used in a repeatable production process on a larger number of parts, a larger packaging format may be more suitable, especially for brush, dip or spray application after the process has been properly set up.
What to check before use
The coating should be applied in a thin and even layer. According to the manufacturer's documentation, film thickness per application should be kept at a maximum of 1.5 mil per side to support proper solvent evaporation and coating cure.
The product is an aerosol and must be used in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Do not spray onto an open flame or any hot surface. The container is pressurised and must not be pierced or burned, even after use.
Example use case
A typical service situation: after repairing a control board or connector in equipment operating in a humid environment, a selected part of the assembly needs to be protected. DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 allows a thin protective layer to be applied locally without starting a dip-coating process or preparing a larger amount of varnish.

FAQ
Is DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 suitable for PCBs?
Yes. The product is intended for the protection of electrical and electronic components and the manufacturer indicates UL QMJU2 recognition as a printed circuit board coating.
What is the difference between DOLPHS SPRAY SYNTHITE AC-46 400 ml and DOLPH'S SYNTHITE AC-46 5 l?
The 400 ml version is an aerosol for convenient local application, service work and touch-ups. The 5 l version is better suited for production processes or a larger number of parts where the varnish can be applied by brush, dipping or spraying after the process has been set up.
How does AC-46 differ from AC-43 and ER-41?
AC-46 is a polyurethane protective varnish with resistance to moisture, oil, abrasion and selected chemicals, and it contains a UV tracer for coating inspection. AC-43 is positioned as a clear class H polyester varnish. ER-41 is a red insulating varnish, selected among others where a visible red coating is important.
How soon can the part be handled after application?
According to manufacturer data, the varnish reaches set to touch condition after approximately 10 minutes at 25°C, and parts may be handled after approximately 30 minutes. For optimum chemical and abrasion resistance, the coating should be left to air dry for at least 24 hours.
Does the UV tracer mean the varnish glows in normal light?
No. The UV tracer is used to inspect coating coverage under suitable UV light. In normal use, the coating remains transparent.
What should be considered during spray application?
Apply a thin layer and ensure good ventilation. Do not spray onto an open flame or hot surface. The container is pressurised and must be protected from heat. It must not be pierced or burned, even after use.
