Opis produktu
KONTAKT 60 is an aerosol electrical contact cleaner with special additives that dissolve corrosion products. It can be used to restore corroded metal contacts.
APPLICATION
For cleaning metal contacts in electronics, automotive and industrial applications. Typical applications include:
- switches and plug-in assemblies,
- IC sockets and fuses,
- lamp holders, sliding contacts and other electrical contacts.
BENEFITS
- Dissolves oxides and other corrosion products, helping to restore metal contacts.
- The solvent mixture removes greasy and resinous deposits.
- The special spray tube allows economical and precise dosing.

INSTRUCTIONS
A few drops per contact pair are usually sufficient. If switch or connector contacts are readily accessible, cleaning can be assisted mechanically by carefully wiping them with cellulose, leather or cotton swabs.
If mechanical cleaning is not possible, leave KONTAKT 60 to penetrate for approximately 10–15 minutes. Then rinse off the dissolved contaminants and corrosion products with KONTAKT WL. Finally, apply KONTAKT 61 as a protective coating. The optimum three-phase contact-cleaning process is: KONTAKT 60 dissolves corrosion layers; KONTAKT WL washes away dissolved corrosion products, grease and dirt; and KONTAKT 61 forms a thin protective layer that inhibits corrosion and protects against wear.
KONTAKT 60 works in many cases without further treatment, but this increases the risk of corrosion returning after a short time. Contacts in large plug-in connectors and robust relays can also be sprayed with KONTAKT 40 to protect them against corrosion. If you are certain that a contact is malfunctioning solely because of contamination, resinification, etc., and not corrosion, KONTAKT 61 can be used directly without further preliminary treatment.
LIMITATIONS AND SAFETY
- The aerosol contains flammable solvents.
- Do not spray the liquid onto electrical equipment that is energised.
- The solvent must evaporate completely before the equipment is restarted. Wait at least 15 minutes; local conditions may require a longer drying time, particularly where fresh-air circulation at the application site is inadequate.
- For series production, check compatibility with plastics. Pay particular attention to stress-crack-sensitive plastics such as polycarbonate and polystyrene, and to components subject to high mechanical loads.
- Refer to the safety data sheet for further safety information.
