Description

KÖRATAC DF 842 1 l is a PVC cold-welding agent for cold-welding or bonding of plasticized PVC, intended for applications such as roof foils and tank sealing foils. The product works through PVC dissolving and swelling characteristics to help create a tight, durable bond. It is a colourless, low-viscosity liquid suitable for brush application or spraying.

Advantages and unique features

  • For cold-welding or bonding of plasticized PVC (roof foils, tank sealing foils, etc.).
  • Dissolving and swelling characteristics support joint tightness.
  • Low viscosity – easy, even application by brush or spraying equipment.
  • Option to achieve higher initial tack (apply on both sides and allow a short flash-off).
  • No standard airing time needed – a small bead at the overlap helps verify correct application.

Properties and applications

  • Use: cold-welding or bonding of plasticized PVC (e.g., roof foils and sealing foils for tanks).
  • Action: PVC dissolving and swelling characteristics.
  • Preparation: due to many PVC types (especially plasticized PVC), preliminary tests are recommended to check swelling and dissolving behaviour.
  • Cleaning of contaminated foils: clean with KÖRASOLV GL.
  • Standard bonding: apply KÖRATAC DF 842 abundantly on one side using a soft brush or spraying equipment, then press both parts together immediately without airing so that a small bead is formed at the overlap end.
  • If surfaces have dried too much: the application procedure may be repeated.
  • High initial tack: apply on both sides and let dry for 1–3 minutes before pressing.
  • Appearance note: may produce a yellow cast on white or very bright foils, without negative effect on the foil or the bond.
