LOXEAL Silicone 59-20 310 ml clear, neutral silicone flange sealant for gearboxes, pumps, engines and tanks
Description
LOXEAL SILICONE 59-20 310 ml clear is a single-component, neutral cure silicone sealant which polymerises on contact with air humidity. It forms elastic joints that replace traditional gaskets made of rubber, gasket paper, cork or paper and is ideal for flange connections. It shows excellent adhesion to metals, glass, plastics and ceramics and is resistant to the action of gases, water, oils and many chemicals.
Benefits and unique features
- Neutral (non-acid) silicone – safe for most metals and sensitive substrates.
- Elastic joint effectively replaces conventional cut gaskets.
- High adhesion to steel, aluminium, glass, many plastics and ceramics.
- Resistant to gas, air, water, oils and selected acids and alkalis.
- Wide service temperature range from -55 °C to +180 °C, short-term up to +200 °C.
- Maintains tightness under shock, vibration and temperature changes.
- After curing, the flange joint can be dismantled using standard tools.
- 310 ml cartridge – convenient linear application along the flange.
Properties and applications
- Flange sealing: gearboxes, pump housings, engines, tanks containing water and oil, and forced-air ducting.
- Gasket replacement: used instead of rubber, gasket paper, cork or paper gaskets in service and production applications.
- Mechanical resistance: the elastic seal compensates vibrations, shocks and thermal expansion of components.
- Chemical resistance: very good resistance to water, oils and selected acids and alkalis, suitable for many industrial systems.
- Dielectric properties: good insulating parameters allow use in electrical applications according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Temperature range: from -55 °C to +180 °C, short-term up to +200 °C – suitable near engines, gearboxes and heating systems.
- Curing behaviour: forms a skin in about 30–50 minutes, reaches functional strength after several hours and fully cures within 24–36 hours.

FAQ
What is LOXEAL SILICONE 59-20 used for?
It is a neutral silicone sealant for sealing flange joints of gearboxes, pumps, engines, tanks containing water or oil and air ducts in industrial installations.
What is the temperature resistance of the sealant?
Once cured, the seal operates from -55 °C to +180 °C and withstands short-term peaks up to about +200 °C.
Can a joint sealed with LOXEAL 59-20 be dismantled?
Yes, the cured sealant is removable – the flange joint can be disassembled using standard tools and the remaining silicone can be mechanically removed.
How long does it take to fully cure?
Under typical conditions (around 22 °C and 50 % relative humidity) a skin forms after 30–50 minutes, functional strength is reached after several hours and full cure after 24–36 hours.
Can LOXEAL 59-20 replace cut gaskets?
Yes, the elastic silicone bead replaces traditional gaskets made of rubber, gasket paper, cork or paper and follows the exact shape of the flange.
