Description

LOCTITE SF 7505 1 L is a fast-drying, water-based latex resin coating that converts and stops rust while acting as a primer for finish coats. Applied to rusted steel, it converts the rust and leaves a black, coherent protective layer.

Benefits and unique features

  • Rust converter and primer in one
  • Easy application: brush, roller, sponge or airless spray
  • Two-coat system – second coat after 60–120 min; topcoat after ≥ 24 h
  • Apply at 10–30 °C; high humidity aids conversion
  • Heat resistance: 90 °C continuous, 120 °C short-term

Properties and applications

  • Steel with firmly adherent rust: remove loose rust and contaminants; power/hand wire-brush and rinse
  • Plants & structures: pipes, valves, tanks, power/HVAC, transport, agriculture
  • Primer for finish paints: select a suitable topcoat for the expected environment
  • Limitations: not for continuous immersion; avoid wet substrates, condensing humidity and direct sun during application
