Loxeal 53-11 medium retaining anaerobic adhesive 50 ml, shaft–hub metal assembly retainer, sealing and corrosion protection
Description
Loxeal 53-11 medium retaining anaerobic adhesive 50 ml is a single-component, medium-strength product designed for fixing metal parts in cylindrical assemblies such as shaft–hub joints. Once air is excluded from the gap between two metal surfaces the adhesive cures, forming an elastic, leak-tight bond resistant to vibration, leakage and corrosion. It is particularly suitable for mounting bearings, drive wheels, sleeves and keys wherever secure retention is required while still allowing later disassembly.
Advantages and unique features
- Medium-strength retainer – joints can be disassembled with standard service tools.
- Specifically developed for shaft–hub and other cylindrical metal-to-metal fits.
- Elastic bond effectively prevents loosening, rotation or axial slip of assembled parts.
- Resistant to gas, air, water, oils, alkalis and many other process chemicals.
- Provides 100% protection against corrosion and ensures high sealing performance.
- Single-component, solvent-free formulation – easy, clean and economical dispensing.
- Maintains properties over a wide service temperature range from -55 to +150 °C.
Properties and applications
- Shaft–hub assemblies: secures cylindrical joints against self-loosening, rotation and axial movement, replacing thermal or press-fit assembly methods.
- Bearings, drive wheels, sleeves, keys: recommended for components that are periodically dismantled during maintenance.
- Sealing of cylindrical joints: complete filling of the gap provides tight joints in systems exposed to pressure of liquids and gases.
- Resistance to shock and vibration: the cured bond stabilises rotating parts in drives and machines operating under demanding conditions.
- Operation in varying conditions: retains mechanical performance over a wide temperature range and under varying loads.
- Material limitations: intended for metal-to-metal assemblies only; not recommended for equipment with pure oxygen or chlorine nor for thermoplastic plastics.

FAQ
What is Loxeal 53-11 used for?
Loxeal 53-11 is designed for fixing metal parts in cylindrical assemblies such as shaft–hub joints, for example bearings, drive wheels, sleeves and keys, providing secure retention and sealing.
Can joints bonded with Loxeal 53-11 be disassembled?
Yes, it is a medium-strength retaining compound. Once cured, assemblies can be dismantled using standard service tools while observing appropriate safety procedures.
How long does it take to cure?
Initial handling strength is typically achieved after 10–20 minutes, functional strength after 1–3 hours and full cure after approximately 3–10 hours at room temperature.
Does the adhesive provide sealing?
Yes, Loxeal 53-11 fills the clearance in cylindrical joints, providing 100% corrosion protection and high sealing performance against gas, air, water, oils and many other chemicals.
On which materials can Loxeal 53-11 be used?
The product is intended for metal-to-metal assemblies. It is not recommended for equipment with pure oxygen or chlorine, nor for thermoplastic plastics where stress cracking may occur.
