Description

Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra 40 is the latest generation oil, specially developed for gas engines. Its main application is the lubrication of modern, medium and high-speed four-stroke gas engines powered by polluted landfill gas containing substances such as hydrogen sulfide, halides and siloxanes. The carefully balanced oil formula allows for longer drain intervals and prevents the formation of carbon and varnish deposits. Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra 40 also has excellent anti-wear and anti-seize properties.

Properties:

  • Exceptional resistance to oxidation, nitridation and thermal stability, which helps to extend oil life, keep the engine clean, reduce filter costs and minimize deposit formation.
  • Very good protective properties against wear, which allows to reduce wear of engine components, reduce the risk of seizing of cylinder liners in heavily loaded gas engines and provide protection during run-in.
  • A unique washing and dispersing system that protects the upper part of the cylinder and timing components, keeps the engine clean and provides long filter life.
  • Optimization of the TBN and alkaline reserve, which contributes to the protection of seats and valve faces in 4-stroke engines, improving the performance of spark plugs and reducing power losses due to knocking combustion.

Usage:

  • Engines running on fuel containing corrosive components such as TOHCL (total organic halides as chlorides), such as landfill or biomass gases.
  • Gas engines running on fuel containing small amounts of hydrogen sulphide (H2S).
  • Four-stroke gas engines with spark ignition, characterized by very low consumption of lubricating oil.
  • Medium and high speed four-stroke engines fitted with catalytic converters that require low ash gas engine oil.
  • Piston compressors powered by natural gas containing sulfur and chlorine compounds.
