Opis produktu
PLASTIK 70 is a fast-drying, colourless and transparent acrylic-resin conformal coating designed primarily to insulate and protect printed circuit boards.
The flexible, low-viscosity coating protects surfaces from moisture, precipitation and airborne contamination. Its “moisture warning” helps identify application to a damp surface: the coating then takes on a frosted, matt appearance.
APPLICATION
- Protecting printed circuit boards against leakage currents and short circuits.
- Providing additional or supplementary insulation for coils and transformers; the coating can also reduce continuous noise.
- Providing a general protective coating on surfaces such as metal, paper, ornaments, paintings and furniture.
BENEFITS
- Fast-drying, colourless and transparent; once dry, it is not visible on the surface of a printed circuit board.
- Excellent insulating properties and flexibility.
- Durable adhesion from −40°C to +60°C; suitable for short-term use at a maximum temperature of +100°C.
- For repair work, the coating can be soldered through or completely removed using acetone, THINNER FOR PLASTIK 70.

Coverage figures are calculated for a 20 µm film and specified for a 200 ml spray and per litre; they are not a separate measurement for the 400 ml package.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface must be dry and degreased before application. For preliminary cleaning of printed circuit boards, the manufacturer recommends KONTAKT PCC to remove grease, dirt and flux residues.
INSTRUCTIONS
- For service work and small production runs, spray the product from the aerosol onto a dry, degreased surface from a distance of 20–30 cm.
- After spraying, turn the can upside down and press the button until only propellant is released; then clean the aerosol valve.
- For serial production, the product from a bulk container can be applied by brush or dipping. For spraying, dilute two parts by volume of PLASTIK 70 with no more than one part by volume of THINNER FOR PLASTIK 70. Determine the exact mixing ratio through trials on the equipment being used.
- For dip coating, determine the immersion time and withdrawal speed. Faster withdrawal produces a thicker layer. Protect dip baths carefully to prevent adherent conductive deposits from becoming trapped.
LIMITATIONS AND SAFETY
- The product contains solvents, including ethyl acetate and butyl acetate. Printed circuit board materials and electronic components generally show good compatibility with these solvents.
- For plastic surfaces, such as housings, carry out a compatibility test. In particular, check suitability for plastics susceptible to stress cracking, such as polycarbonate.
- The product contains flammable solvents. Ensure adequate workplace ventilation and remove all possible sources of ignition.
