Product description
WEICON Silicone F 310 ml – self-levelling silicone for potting and sealing
WEICON Silicone F is a liquid, self-levelling and solvent-free one-component silicone with neutral curing. It can be used for flexible bonding, insulation, impregnation, sealing and potting of technical components. After curing, it remains highly flexible and resistant to ageing, weathering and temperatures up to +180°C.
Applications of WEICON Silicone F
Silicone F is intended for applications requiring a liquid silicone that can flow and level itself over the surface. It can be used for sealing and potting technical components up to a maximum thickness of 10 mm as well as for insulation and impregnation.
The product adheres well to steel, aluminium, glass and ceramics as well as many other materials. WEICON specifies applications including machine and equipment construction, plastics processing, the energy and electrical industries, as well as exhibition and shop fitting.
Key properties
- liquid self-levelling consistency,
- one-component neutral-curing silicone,
- moisture curing,
- solvent-free,
- elongation at break 600%,
- temperature resistance from -50°C to +180°C,
- resistant to ageing and weathering,
- suitable for potting technical components up to a maximum of 10 mm.
Surface preparation and application
Surfaces should be clean and free of grease. For removing oil, grease, dust and other contamination, the manufacturer recommends WEICON Surface Cleaner. Cleaner Spray S may be used for heavily contaminated metal surfaces. Where particularly high adhesion is required, WEICON recommends an appropriate primer or mechanical surface preparation.
Silicone F can be applied with a manual 310 ml cartridge gun, a pneumatic cartridge gun or an automatic dispensing system. The application temperature ranges from +5°C to +40°C. The parts to be joined should be assembled before skin formation begins.
