Product description
WEICON UW 200 g – epoxy repair compound for wet and damp surfaces
WEICON UW is a two-component mineral-filled epoxy resin system designed for repairing, rebuilding and moulding components in areas where moisture makes it difficult to achieve proper adhesion. The product has a paste-like consistency and forms a white repair material after curing.
Its special formulation provides very good adhesion even to wet and damp surfaces. The manufacturer also specifies WEICON UW for applications carried out underwater.
Applications of WEICON UW
The system can be used for repair and maintenance work on pipes, pumps, tanks and containers. It is suitable for applications in the marine sector and inland navigation, wastewater installations and wherever moisture or water makes repairs with standard epoxy systems difficult.
Key properties

Storage
WEICON epoxy resin systems should be stored in a dry place at room temperature. The manufacturer specifies a minimum shelf life of 36 months for unopened containers when stored correctly. Opened containers should be used within 6 months.
Preparation and mixing
Before combining the components, first stir the resin. The resin and hardener must then be mixed thoroughly until a homogeneous compound is obtained while maintaining the mixing ratio specified by the manufacturer. At a material temperature of 20°C, the manufacturer recommends mixing for at least four minutes. When mixing mechanically, use a low rotational speed of no more than 500 rpm.
Prepare only as much material as can be used within the working time. Larger quantities of mixed material or higher temperatures accelerate the reaction and reduce the available application time.
Safety
The resin and hardener are mixtures classified as hazardous. During use, apply the protective measures required by the current safety data sheets and the information on the product labels. Before using the product, read the current safety data sheets for both components.
FAQ
Can WEICON UW be used on a wet surface?
Yes. The product was developed specifically for applications where the surface is wet or damp and standard systems may have difficulty achieving adhesion.
Can WEICON UW be used underwater?
Yes. The manufacturer specifies very good adhesion even for underwater bonding. For this reason, the system is used in applications including the marine sector and inland navigation.
What can WEICON UW be used for?
The manufacturer lists applications including the repair of pipes, pumps, tanks and containers as well as wastewater installations and other areas where moisture makes repair work difficult.
How long can the mixed material be used?
The working time specified in the TDS is approximately 30 minutes for a 500 g batch at a material temperature of 20°C. Higher temperatures or larger quantities of mixed material can reduce this time.
How long does WEICON UW take to reach final strength?
At 20°C, final strength is reached after approximately 36 hours. Lower temperatures extend the curing process.
What is the temperature resistance after curing?
According to the current TDS, the cured system has a temperature resistance from -35°C to +160°C.
