WIKO Silicone Spray lubricant and release agent 400 ml
Description
WIKO Silicone Spray for lubrication and release applications
WIKO Silicone Spray 400 ml is a lubricant, sliding agent and release agent designed for production, servicing and industrial maintenance. It provides effective lubrication of rubber, plastic and metal components while creating a separating film between mating surfaces.
The product leaves a clean sliding film that does not resinify. Its water-repellent and antistatic properties help protect metal components against oxidation and corrosion while reducing the adhesion of materials to guides, conveyors, tools and working surfaces.
Applications of WIKO Silicone Spray 100148
WIKO Silicone Spray can be used to lubricate and maintain components made of rubber, plastics and metal. Typical applications include seals, guides, sliding elements, seat mechanisms, safety belt reels and moving parts affected by friction, sticking or squeaking.
In paper converting and woodworking the spray can reduce adhesive residue accumulation on presses and guides. Applied to cutting edges and tools, it helps maintain smooth cutting. In conveyor systems it reduces the adhesion of materials to conveyor belts, chutes, slides and guideways.
The product can also be used as a release agent in casting and injection moulding processes and as an assembly aid for hose connections.
Benefits of WIKO Silicone Spray
The spray combines lubrication, sliding, release, water displacement and surface protection in one product. Its clean sliding film does not resinify or form a conventional heavy grease deposit, making it suitable for applications where clean lubrication is important.
The water-repellent action supports the protection of components exposed to moisture, while the antistatic properties help limit electrostatic charging. The manufacturer specifies a service temperature range from -30°C to +150°C and short-term resistance up to +180°C.
When to choose WIKO Silicone Spray
This product is suitable when rubber, plastic or metal components stick, squeak or require a clean sliding layer. It can also be selected when a conventional grease would leave an excessively heavy or visible deposit.
On rubber seals the spray helps reduce sticking, freezing and embrittlement. On plastic components it supports smooth movement and helps maintain a good surface finish.
Directions for use
Remove dirt, rust, oil and old grease residues from the surface. Shake the aerosol can thoroughly and carry out a test on a small area of the material before full application.
Apply the product evenly in a crosswise pattern from a distance of approximately 20–30 cm. Distribute it with a soft smooth cloth. Adjust the quantity to the surface and the required sliding or release effect.
Important information before use
WIKO Silicone Spray creates a release film. Do not apply it to areas that will subsequently be bonded, painted or printed unless all product residues are completely removed. Silicone contamination may reduce the adhesion of adhesives and coatings.
The service temperature range does not indicate the permitted application or storage temperature of the aerosol can. Do not spray near flames, sparks, hot surfaces or other ignition sources. Use in a well-ventilated area and follow the product label and current safety data sheet.

FAQ
Is WIKO Silicone Spray suitable for rubber seals?
Yes. It lubricates and maintains rubber components and helps reduce sticking, freezing and embrittlement. Test the product on a small area before first use.
Can it be used on plastics?
Yes. Plastics are one of the primary material groups specified by the manufacturer. The spray provides a sliding effect and can help maintain a good surface finish.
Can WIKO 100148 be used as a mould release agent?
Yes. The manufacturer specifies release applications in casting and injection moulding. A process test should be performed when introducing the product to a new material or production process.
Does the product leave a heavy greasy coating?
It does not form a conventional heavy grease layer. The manufacturer describes it as a clean sliding film that does not resinify.
Can the treated surface subsequently be bonded or painted?
Not without thoroughly removing the silicone film. The product has a release effect and its residues may reduce the adhesion of adhesives, paints and other coatings.
Do its antistatic properties mean that it is ESD-certified?
No such conclusion should be made. The manufacturer confirms antistatic properties but does not specify an ESD classification or standard. The product should not be marketed as an ESD-certified spray without additional confirmation.
What is the service temperature range?
The continuous service temperature range is from -30°C to +150°C. The applied film can temporarily withstand temperatures up to +180°C.
