WIKO Super Glue Primer 15 ml for bonding PE PP and PTFE with cyanoacrylate adhesives
Description
WIKO Super Glue Primer 15 ml for difficult-to-bond plastics
WIKO Super Glue Primer is designed for surface preparation before applying a cyanoacrylate adhesive. It improves adhesion to materials that may be difficult or impossible to bond effectively without appropriate preparation.
The product extends the application range of cyanoacrylate adhesives to materials including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE, Viton, silicone and thermoplastics. The primer is quick and easy to use. It also helps increase the strength of bonds made with plastics that provide poor adhesion.
Applications
WIKO Super Glue Primer is designed to prepare surfaces made of materials such as:
- polyethylene PE,
- polypropylene PP,
- PTFE,
- Viton,
- silicone,
- difficult-to-bond thermoplastics.
After preparing the surface with the primer an appropriately selected cyanoacrylate adhesive must be applied. The primer is not an adhesive and does not create a bond without the use of a suitable adhesive.
Features
- improves the adhesion of cyanoacrylate adhesives,
- facilitates bonding plastics that provide poor adhesion,
- extends the application range of cyanoacrylate adhesives,
- helps increase bond strength,
- quick and easy to apply,
- suitable for preparing PE PP and PTFE surfaces,
- supplied in a compact 15 ml bottle.
Directions for use
Before application the surfaces to be bonded should be clean dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants. Apply the primer to the plastic surface that requires preparation. After using the primer apply an appropriately selected cyanoacrylate adhesive in accordance with the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
Due to differences between plastic grades additives used during production and the operating conditions of the finished bond a test should be carried out on the actual components before introducing the product into a serial production process.

FAQ
What is WIKO Super Glue Primer used for?
The primer is used to prepare difficult-to-bond plastics before applying a cyanoacrylate adhesive. It improves the adhesion of the adhesive to surfaces with poor bonding properties.
Is WIKO Super Glue Primer an adhesive?
No. The product prepares the surface for bonding but does not replace the adhesive. After applying the primer an appropriately selected cyanoacrylate adhesive must be used.
Can the primer be used on PE and PP?
Yes. The manufacturer lists polyethylene PE and polypropylene PP among the plastics whose adhesion can be improved using WIKO Super Glue Primer.
Is WIKO Super Glue Primer suitable for PTFE?
Yes. PTFE is one of the materials listed by the manufacturer. However a test should be performed using the specific material grade and selected adhesive before final application.
Is a cyanoacrylate adhesive required after applying the primer?
Yes. The primer is an auxiliary product intended for use before applying the actual cyanoacrylate adhesive.
Does the primer guarantee effective bonding of every plastic?
The same result cannot be guaranteed for every plastic grade. Bond strength depends on factors including the exact material the cleanliness of the surfaces the joint design the selected adhesive and the operating conditions. A test application is therefore recommended.
What is the shelf life of the product?
The manufacturer states a shelf life of 12 months. The product should be stored in accordance with the current safety data sheet and the information provided on the packaging.
Before use read the current product label safety data sheet and technical documentation.
