Opis produktu

CRC EVAPO-RUST 1 l – water-based rust remover for metal without intensive scrubbing

CRC EVAPO-RUST 1 l is a ready-to-use product designed to chemically remove rust from steel and cast iron components. Its water-based formula is intended for immersion treatment, allowing metal surfaces to be cleaned without intensive brushing, sanding or sandblasting.

EVAPO-RUST is suitable for restoring tools, machine parts, automotive components, bolts, fasteners and other metal parts. It removes rust without damaging unaffected steel, working through a chemical process that removes corrosion products from the surface.

The product is non-flammable, does not release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and can be reused. The solution is ready for application and does not require dilution with water.

Important – correct application method

CRC EVAPO-RUST is a liquid rust remover intended for immersion treatment. The rusted component should be fully submerged in the solution. After rust removal, rinse the item with water, dry it thoroughly and apply a suitable corrosion protection product or paint. EVAPO-RUST itself is not a substitute for a durable protective coating.

What is CRC EVAPO-RUST used for?

Removing rust from workshop tools

The product removes rust from spanners, pliers, fasteners and other tools made of compatible metals. It is suitable for restoring tools that have been stored in damp conditions for extended periods.

Restoring automotive parts

EVAPO-RUST can be used to clean removed metal components, including brackets, bolts, holders and other steel or cast iron parts. Immersion treatment allows the solution to reach areas that are difficult to clean thoroughly with a brush.

Removing rust from industrial machine parts

The product can be used during maintenance and restoration of mechanical components, production tools and industrial equipment. It is particularly useful for dismantled parts that can be cleaned during scheduled maintenance shutdowns.

Restoring bolts and fasteners

By acting on corrosion products, EVAPO-RUST makes it possible to clean bolts, nuts and other steel fasteners. However, it should not be confused with a penetrating lubricant designed for immediately loosening seized threaded connections.

Restoring household and garden equipment

EVAPO-RUST can be used to remove rust from metal garden tools, fittings, equipment components and other items that can be safely immersed in the solution.

Key properties of CRC EVAPO-RUST

Rust removal without intensive scrubbing

The product works through immersion treatment. The solution acts on corrosion products, so most of the cleaning is performed by the chemical process itself. The required treatment time depends on the thickness and type of rust.

Ready-to-use water-based solution

EVAPO-RUST is supplied as a ready-to-use liquid. There is no need to mix it with other components or prepare a specific working concentration.

Reusable solution

According to the manufacturer, EVAPO-RUST can be reused several times, potentially for up to approximately five treatment cycles, depending on the quantity of rust removed and the condition of the solution.

Not classified as a hazardous mixture

EVAPO-RUST is not classified as a hazardous mixture under CLP regulations. The product is non-flammable and non-corrosive. Nevertheless, standard occupational hygiene practices should be followed. Avoid eye contact and observe the current Safety Data Sheet.

Compatibility with various materials

The manufacturer states that EVAPO-RUST does not damage unaffected steel and is compatible with many other metals, plastics, rubber and selected painted surfaces. A preliminary compatibility test is recommended for multi-material assemblies and decorative finishes.

Biodegradable formulation

According to CRC technical documentation, the product achieved 68.9% biodegradation in an OECD 301B test. This does not mean that used solution containing removed contaminants can always be discharged into drains. Waste handling also depends on the type of contamination introduced during use.

How to use CRC EVAPO-RUST 1 l

1. Preliminary cleaning: remove oil, grease and heavy dirt from the rusted component before immersion. Residues of any degreasing product should be removed before the rust-removal treatment.

2. Prepare a suitable container: pour enough EVAPO-RUST into a container to completely cover the item being treated. Do not dilute the solution.

3. Immerse the component: place the item fully in the liquid. Make sure the solution reaches all rusted surfaces.

4. Treatment time: leave the component immersed until the rust has been removed. According to the TDS, the indicative treatment time is 6–24 hours, depending on the degree of corrosion. Heavily rusted items may require longer treatment.

5. Check the result: inspect the treated surface. If rust remains, continue the immersion treatment.

6. Rinse: remove the item from the solution and rinse it thoroughly with water.

7. Dry: dry the item carefully, paying particular attention to gaps, threads, holes and other hard-to-reach areas where moisture may remain.

8. Protect against corrosion: after drying, apply a suitable corrosion protection product or paint if required by the intended use of the component.

Operating temperature and product capacity

CRC EVAPO-RUST can work at temperatures below 15°C, but the rust-removal process will be slower. Increasing the solution temperature to approximately 50°C, as specified in the TDS, may accelerate the process.

The manufacturer states an indicative capacity of approximately 50 g of dry rust per 1 litre of product. This describes the rust-removal capacity of the solution and is not a guaranteed performance figure for every component geometry or type of corrosion.

The solution can be reused as long as it remains effective. Its service life depends primarily on the quantity of corrosion products removed.
