Product description
LOCTITE SI 5610 400 ml – fast 2K silicone adhesive and sealant for glass and metal
LOCTITE SI 5610 is a black two-component alkoxy silicone adhesive and sealant designed for fast bonding and sealing of glass, metals and Ceran® surfaces. The product has a thixotropic consistency, helping it remain in place during application and allowing controlled dispensing in demanding assembly applications.
The price applies to 1 piece. The product is sold in quantities of 10 pieces – when added to the cart, the quantity will automatically be set to 10 pieces.
Applications of LOCTITE SI 5610
SI 5610 has been developed for bonding and sealing joints exposed to elevated temperatures. A typical application is the assembly and sealing of glass and glass-ceramic components in kitchen appliances, including cooktops. The product can also be used for bonding glass to metal and in structures where adhesive bonding can help reduce the need for welded or riveted joints.
The manufacturer indicates very good adhesion to glass, metals and Ceran® as well as operating temperature resistance up to 180°C. For every new substrate and set of service conditions, a practical application test is recommended before serial production.
Key properties and benefits
- two-component alkoxy silicone for bonding and sealing,
- black material after mixing,
- thixotropic consistency for controlled dispensing,
- fixture time of approximately 4–6 minutes,
- short mixed-product pot life of approximately 2.5 minutes,
- good adhesion to glass, metals and Ceran®,
- operating temperature resistance up to 180°C,
- suitable for high-temperature applications,
- designed for industrial applications requiring rapid assembly.
How to use LOCTITE SI 5610
The surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free from grease and other contaminants that could reduce adhesion. The manufacturer recommends using an 8 mm diameter, 24-element spiral mixing nozzle.
When using the dual cartridge, place it in a suitable dispensing gun, remove the closure and dispense a small amount of both components to make sure they flow freely and evenly. Then install the static mixer. Discard the first approximately 3–5 cm of mixed material because the initial portion may not have the correct component ratio.
After applying the adhesive, join the parts without unnecessary delay. Because of the short pot life of the mixed material, all components and the positioning method should be prepared before dispensing begins.

Storage
Store the product in its unopened container in a dry place. Henkel states that storage below 8°C or above 21°C may adversely affect the product properties. Material removed from the package should not be returned to the original cartridge because contamination may occur.
Limitations and safety
LOCTITE SI 5610 is not recommended for use in pure oxygen systems or oxygen-rich environments. It should also not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials. Before use, consult the current Safety Data Sheets applicable to both components and use the required personal protective equipment.
FAQ – LOCTITE SI 5610
Is LOCTITE SI 5610 suitable for bonding glass?
Yes. The manufacturer lists glass as one of the main substrates for SI 5610. The product is used, among other applications, for bonding and sealing glass and glass-ceramic assemblies.
Can it bond metal to glass?
Yes. LOCTITE SI 5610 is intended for bonding glass and metals, making it suitable for structures combining both materials.
Is SI 5610 suitable for cooktops?
Yes. One of the typical applications indicated by Henkel is bonding and sealing glass and glass-ceramic cooktop assemblies.
How fast does LOCTITE SI 5610 cure?
The fixture time is approximately 4–6 minutes. The pot life of the mixed material is even shorter, at approximately 2.5 minutes, so all parts should be prepared before application begins.
What temperature can LOCTITE SI 5610 withstand?
The manufacturer declares an operating temperature resistance of up to 180°C. The product may withstand higher temperatures for short periods, but selection for a specific application should take the actual temperature profile of the joint into account.
How are the components of LOCTITE SI 5610 mixed?
Components A and B are mixed in a 2:1 volume ratio using a suitable static mixer. After fitting the mixer, discard the first approximately 3–5 cm of mixed material.
Why is the product sold in quantities of 10 when the price is shown per piece?
The price shown on the product page applies to one LOCTITE SI 5610 400 ml cartridge. However, the minimum sales quantity is 10 pieces, so when the product is added to the cart, the quantity will automatically be set to 10.
