Description

Loxeal 82-33 anaerobic bearing retaining adhesive 10 ml is a single-component, high-strength product designed for bonding metallic parts in cylindrical shaft–hub assemblies. It cures rapidly once air is excluded from the joint, securing the connection against loosening, leakage and corrosion, even on slightly oily metal surfaces.

Benefits and unique features

  • High strength – provides durable shaft–hub retention for heavily loaded assemblies.
  • Fast curing – develops handling strength within a few minutes after application.
  • Resistant to gas, water, oils, alkalis and many other industrial chemicals as well as vibration and impact.
  • Can be used on slightly oily metal surfaces, simplifying assembly in production environments.
  • Provides full corrosion protection and leak-tightness over a wide service temperature range.
  • Green fluorescent colour enables easy inspection of adhesive coverage under UV light.
  • Compact 10 ml bottle ideal for maintenance, service and trial applications.

Properties and applications

  • Bearing and sleeve retention: secures bearings, sleeves, gears and keyed components in housings and on shafts, replacing thermal or press-fit assembly.
  • High-load joints: recommended where high axial loads and torque must be transmitted and where joint disassembly is difficult.
  • Media and environment resistance: cured adhesive is tight and resistant to gas, air, water, oils and many chemicals, as well as temperature cycling and vibration.
  • Wide temperature range: maintains mechanical properties from -55 °C to +150 °C.
  • Application control: fluorescent additive allows checking the presence of adhesive in the joint using a UV lamp.
  • Use limitations: not recommended for systems with pure oxygen or chlorine, or in contact with thermoplastics where stress cracking may occur.

Storage recommendations

Store Loxeal 82-33 in its original, tightly closed container in a dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight, at temperatures between +8 °C and +28 °C. Protect from contamination, moisture and access by children. After each use, close the bottle carefully to avoid premature gelation of the product.

FAQ

What is Loxeal 82-33 used for?
It is a high-strength anaerobic adhesive for retaining bearings, sleeves, gears and other metal parts in shaft–hub assemblies subjected to high loads and vibration.

Can a joint bonded with Loxeal 82-33 be disassembled?
The joint is very strong, so disassembly is difficult and usually requires heating and suitable mechanical tools.

How long does it take to cure?
Fixture time is typically 5–10 minutes, functional strength is reached after 1–3 hours and full cure after 3–10 hours depending on materials and joint clearance.

Can it be applied on slightly oily surfaces?
Yes, the product can be used on slightly oily metal surfaces, although thorough cleaning and degreasing are always recommended.

What temperature range can the bonded assembly withstand?
The cured adhesive maintains its performance between -55 °C and +150 °C.

Is it suitable for plastics or oxygen systems?
No, it is not recommended for use in systems with pure oxygen or chlorine, or in contact with thermoplastics where stress cracking may occur.
