MOLYKOTE 44 Light 5 kg, high-temperature silicone bearing grease, NLGI 1, −40 °C to +204 °C
Description
MOLYKOTE 44 Light High Temperature Grease 5 kg is a high-temperature silicone grease for bearings and mechanisms operating across a wide temperature range. The “Light” grade (NLGI 1) provides low start-up resistance, stable lubrication, and resistance to water and oxidation for extended service intervals.
Benefits and unique features
- Silicone grease with enhanced thermal resistance – built for high-temperature use
- Low volatility and good oxidation resistance – longer bearing life
- Resistant to water washout – stable lubricating film
- NLGI 1 (Light) – very good low-temperature start-up
- Compatible with many plastics and elastomers
Properties and applications
- High-temperature bearings: motors, blowers, furnace fans, heating equipment.
- Precision mechanisms: lightly/moderately loaded gears and bearings, drives in lab equipment.
- Humid environments: applications exposed to water, condensate and low-pressure steam.
- Application note: avoid contact with strong oxidizers; do not apply to surfaces to be painted.

FAQ
1) What service temperature can it handle?
Typical service range is approximately −40 °C to +204 °C.
2) How does Light differ from Medium?
Light is NLGI 1 for lower start-up resistance; Medium is NLGI 2 for higher consistency in standard bearings.
3) Is it hazardous or ADR-regulated?
No – it is not classified as hazardous and is not subject to ADR/IMDG/IATA.
4) Key physico-chemical data?
White color, density ~1.1; insoluble in water; flash point >101.1 °C.
