Medmix COX VBM 400 MR manual 2K adhesive dispenser 400–490 ml 18:1
Description
Medmix COX VBM 400 MR manual dispenser for 400–490 ml two-component adhesives
Medmix COX VBM 400 MR DM2C 400-MR-R18-001 is a manual dispenser designed for the controlled application of two-component adhesives, sealants and compounds supplied in side-by-side cartridges. With the appropriate plunger configuration, one dispenser can be adapted to systems with mixing ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1.
The 18:1 mechanical ratio generates thrust of up to 3.5 kN, making the dispenser suitable for the manual application of medium- and high-viscosity materials. It dispenses both components simultaneously and directs them into a compatible static mixing nozzle.
Applications of the COX VBM 400 MR dispenser
The applicator is intended for assembly, repair and production work requiring the dispensing of two-component materials. Typical applications include:
- application of epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic and silicone adhesives,
- bonding metal, composite and plastic components,
- application of two-component sealants,
- gap filling and potting applications,
- assembly and repair work in industrial production, automotive applications, construction and electronics,
- controlled bead application.
Key features of this 2K adhesive dispenser
The main advantage of the VBM 400 MR is its ability to accommodate several mixing ratios. This reduces the need to purchase a separate dispenser for each type of two-component cartridge and makes it easier to work with different adhesives in a production facility or workshop.
- Four mixing ratios: 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1.
- 18:1 mechanical ratio: assists with dispensing medium- and high-viscosity materials.
- Maximum thrust of 3.5 kN: supports efficient movement of the plungers in a dual cartridge.
- Manual operation: no compressed air, battery or electrical power supply is required.
- Durable construction: the handle is made of cast aluminium, while the frame is made of epoxy-coated steel.
- Wear compensation: the mechanism helps maintain consistent dispenser performance during use.
When to choose the Medmix COX VBM 400 MR
This model is a suitable choice when different two-component adhesives in 400 ml cartridge systems are used at the same workplace and mixing ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 or 10:1 are required. Manual operation is particularly useful for individual jobs, assembly work, repairs and applications performed where no compressed-air system is available.
The 18:1 ratio provides a balance between dispensing force and control over the amount of material applied. For very frequent dispensing of exceptionally viscous compounds, a model with a higher mechanical ratio or a pneumatic or battery-powered dispenser may be more suitable.
What to check before purchasing
Compatibility is not determined by cartridge capacity alone. Before purchasing, check the cartridge design, side-by-side configuration, component ratio, dimensions and connection compatibility with the intended mixing nozzle. A capacity of approximately 490 ml is primarily associated with specific 10:1 cartridges.
The dispenser does not mix the components inside the tool. Correct application requires a mixing nozzle compatible with the cartridge and the dispensed material. The nozzle should be selected according to the connection system, component ratio and adhesive manufacturer's recommendations.
How to use the two-component cartridge dispenser
- Adjust the plunger configuration to match the component ratio of the cartridge.
- Place a compatible side-by-side cartridge in the dispenser frame.
- Open the cartridge according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Fit the correct mixing nozzle.
- Press the trigger evenly while controlling the amount and shape of the applied bead.
- Release pressure from the mechanism after completing the application.
Always consult the technical data sheet of the adhesive for surface preparation requirements, working time, instructions concerning disposal of the initial portion and curing conditions.

FAQ
Does the dispenser support both 400 ml and 490 ml cartridges?
Yes. The model is designed for compatible dual cartridges within the 400 ml system. Depending on the component ratio, the actual capacity of a compatible cartridge set may be approximately 400–490 ml. Cartridge geometry and mixing ratio must also be verified before use.
Which mixing ratios does the COX VBM 400 MR support?
The dispenser can be adapted for cartridges with mixing ratios of 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1. The plunger configuration must correspond to the ratio of the specific cartridge.
Does the dispenser mix both adhesive components?
The dispenser simultaneously pushes components A and B out of the cartridge. The components are combined and mixed inside a compatible static mixing nozzle fitted to the cartridge.
Is a mixing nozzle included?
The mixing nozzle must be selected for the specific cartridge and adhesive. Unless the nozzle is expressly listed as part of the supplied set, it should be ordered separately.
Is the dispenser suitable for high-viscosity two-component adhesives?
Yes. The 18:1 mechanical ratio and thrust of up to 3.5 kN enable the application of medium- and high-viscosity materials. For exceptionally viscous compounds or intensive serial use, a dispenser providing greater thrust may be more suitable.
Does the dispenser require compressed air?
No. It is a manually operated applicator and therefore does not require a compressor, battery or connection to an electrical power supply.
Can any 400 ml cartridge be used?
No. The cartridge must have a compatible side-by-side configuration, the correct component ratio and dimensions suitable for the frame and plungers. Matching capacity alone does not guarantee compatibility.
