Product description

Shell Refrigeration Oil S2 FR-A 68 is a specialist refrigeration compressor oil designed to work in systems with ammonia (R717) as a refrigerant. By using paraffinic base oils and deposit-minimizing additives, Shell Refrigeration Oil S2 FR-A provides long oil and equipment life.

Product properties

System efficiency: Reduces oil carry-over, increases system efficiency by reducing the tendency to viscosity reduction and reducing oil deposits on internal evaporator surfaces.
Extended service life: High oxidation resistance ensures long oil life even at high compression temperatures, minimizing deposits and sludge.
Seal compatibility: Compatible with all types of seals designed to work with mineral oils.
Oil compatibility: Miscible with mineral oils, alkylbenzene oils and base oils. PAO.

Applications

Refrigeration compressors: Recommended for open, semi-open and hermetic compressors in domestic, commercial and industrial systems.
Refrigerant compatibility: Ideal for ammonia (R717) systems, also in the case of high compression temperatures and low evaporation temperatures (-30°C). Can be used with hydrocarbon refrigerants such as propane (R290).
