SikaLastomer-710 black butyl sealant for removable joints 310 ml
Description
SikaLastomer-710 black butyl sealant for removable joints
SikaLastomer-710 black 310 ml is a non-sagging butyl sealant for plastic seals that may need to be disassembled later. The black variant is particularly suitable for dark components where a grey or white sealant would create a visible contrast.
The product has a paste-like consistency, a broad adhesion spectrum and good ageing resistance. It cures through physical drying by solvent evaporation and does not require heat.
Applications
- sealing dark components and removable joints,
- manufacture and repair of cars and commercial vehicles,
- sealing components in buses and trucks,
- caravans and motorhomes,
- plastic industrial seals,
- joints exposed to fresh water or seawater.
Key product benefits
- black colour for dark components,
- later disassembly of the joint is possible,
- non-sagging plastic consistency,
- easy cartridge application,
- broad adhesion spectrum,
- good ageing resistance,
- cures without heat,
- service temperature from -30°C to +80°C.
When to choose the black variant
Choose the black variant when sealing black or dark components and the joint should remain visually discreet. It is suitable where protection against water is required without creating a permanent structural bond.
SikaLastomer-710 is not a structural adhesive and must not replace mechanical fastening or a load-bearing adhesive.
Application limitations
Surfaces must be clean and free from dust, grease, oil and water. Adhesion and material compatibility must be verified on the original substrates before serial use.
The product is resistant to fresh water, seawater, limewater and aqueous cleaning solutions. It has weak resistance to fuels, mineral oils and vegetable or animal fatty oils.
Overpainting is only possible with certain water-based coating systems and requires preliminary compatibility testing.
Directions for use
- Clean and dry the surfaces to be sealed.
- Where required, verify adhesion on the original substrate.
- Place the cartridge in a manual or compressed-air gun.
- Apply an even bead while avoiding air entrapment.
- Apply between +10°C and +35°C.
- Tool with water and soap if required.
