Opis produktu
CRC EVAPO-RUST 5 l – water-based rust remover for machine parts and tools
CRC EVAPO-RUST 5 l is a ready-to-use water-based product for chemically removing rust from steel, cast iron, tools and compatible machine components. Designed for immersion cleaning, it removes corrosion without requiring intensive scrubbing, grinding or sandblasting.
The 5 litre container is particularly suitable for workshops, production facilities and industrial maintenance departments that need to restore larger components or carry out repeated rust-removal treatments. The solution can be reused as long as it maintains its effectiveness.
EVAPO-RUST acts on iron corrosion products, helping restore clean metal surfaces. According to the manufacturer, the solution is non-flammable, water-based and contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Important – correct application
CRC EVAPO-RUST is primarily intended for immersion rust removal. Do not use it on magnesium or magnesium alloys. After treatment, rinse the component with water, dry it thoroughly and apply suitable corrosion protection where required.
Applications of CRC EVAPO-RUST 5 l
Removing rust from industrial machine parts
The solution is suitable for cleaning dismantled steel and cast iron machine components. It can be used during inspections, overhauls and restoration work to remove corrosion caused by operation or storage.
Restoring workshop tools and equipment
EVAPO-RUST helps remove rust from spanners, pliers, holders, fasteners and other compatible workshop equipment. Immersion treatment allows the liquid to reach recesses and areas that are difficult to clean with a brush.
Cleaning automotive components
The product can be used to remove rust from dismantled steel brackets, bolts, mounts, underbody components and other parts intended for restoration. The technical condition of each component must be checked before reassembly.
Restoring fasteners
EVAPO-RUST is suitable for derusting bolts, nuts, washers and other small steel parts that can be fully immersed. It is not a substitute for a penetrating lubricant used to loosen assembled seized threaded connections.
Cleaning multiple components
The 5 litre volume makes it possible to prepare an immersion bath for several parts or a larger component, provided the working container allows complete immersion. The same solution may be reused depending on its condition.
Key benefits and properties
Rust removal without intensive scrubbing
The chemical action of the solution reduces the need for mechanical rust removal. In typical applications, the part can be immersed for the required time, then rinsed and dried.
Ready to use without dilution
EVAPO-RUST is supplied as a ready-to-use liquid. No additional water or mixing with other chemicals is required before preparing the bath.
Reusable cleaning solution
The liquid remains effective through successive treatments until it becomes excessively loaded with corrosion products. An earlier manufacturer technical sheet indicates that it may be reused up to approximately five times, depending on the amount of rust removed.
Does not damage unaffected steel
According to CRC, the product does not attack unaffected steel and is compatible with many materials used in equipment, including selected plastics, rubber and painted surfaces. Preliminary testing is recommended for assemblies made from different materials.
Water-based non-flammable formula
The product is non-flammable and does not require aggressive acid-based rust removal. According to the manufacturer, the formula does not release unpleasant fumes or volatile organic compounds.
Biodegradability
CRC technical documentation confirms biodegradability under OECD 301B testing. However, this does not mean that a used bath may be discharged into drains without considering contamination removed from the treated components.
How to use CRC EVAPO-RUST 5 l
1. Pre-clean the components: remove heavy dirt, grease and oil. If a degreaser has been used, rinse the component thoroughly before immersion.
2. Prepare the bath: pour the required amount of undiluted solution into a compatible container. There should be enough liquid to completely cover the components.
3. Immerse the parts: place rusted components into the solution, making sure that all surfaces requiring treatment are in contact with the liquid.
4. Allow sufficient treatment time: leave the parts immersed until rust is removed. The manufacturer recommends an indicative soaking time of 6–24 hours. Heavy corrosion may require longer treatment.
5. Inspect the result: check the components periodically. Continue soaking if corrosion remains.
6. Rinse: remove the components and rinse them thoroughly with clean water.
7. Dry: dry all surfaces, holes, recesses and narrow gaps carefully.
8. Protect the metal: where the component will be stored or used in a corrosion-prone environment, apply suitable corrosion protection or paint.
Bath temperature and rust-removal capacity
EVAPO-RUST also works at temperatures below 15°C, but rust removal will be slower. According to the technical data sheet, raising the solution temperature to approximately 50°C may accelerate the process. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommendations or use uncontrolled heating methods.
The manufacturer gives an indicative rust-removal capacity of approximately 50 g of dry rust per litre of solution. The actual performance of the 5 litre container depends on the degree of corrosion, contamination and operating conditions. This value is not a guaranteed result for every component.
