Fischer DuoTec 10 nylon toggle fixing for plasterboard OSB and MDF 50 pcs
Description
Fischer DuoTec 10 – toggle fixing for plasterboard OSB and MDF
Fischer DuoTec 10 is a nylon toggle fixing designed primarily for installations in panel materials and structures with hollow spaces. It can be used to mount a cabinet, shelf, lamp, mirror or another item where a conventional expansion plug cannot anchor correctly behind the panel.
The short toggle element passes through a 10 mm drill hole, rotates behind the panel and rests against its rear surface. The minimum required cavity depth is 40 mm. This makes DuoTec 10 suitable for installation in relatively narrow cavities. The version with the Melkib SKU 00537258 contains 50 fixings without screws.
Applications
Fischer DuoTec 10 is designed for use in plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard, OSB, chipboard and MDF panels. The manufacturer also specifies its suitability for steel sheets, plastic panels and hollow concrete blocks.
The fixing can be used for mounting:
- kitchen and wall cabinets,
- shelves and wardrobe components,
- handrails and handles,
- pictures and mirrors,
- lamps and lighting fixtures,
- hanging baskets and other interior fittings.
In solid construction materials such as concrete or wood, DuoTec 10 can function as an expansion plug. Metric screws or threaded rods should not be used for this type of installation.
Key features of the Fischer DuoTec 10
The fixing is made from two cooperating plastic components. Its soft grey contact surface rests against the rear of the panel and helps distribute the load over a larger area. This reduces local stress on the material around the drill hole.
The white collar sleeve reinforces the edge of the drill hole and stabilises the fixing during installation. The snap-in function enables pre-positioned installation and prevents the fixing from falling into the cavity before the screw is inserted.
The flexible stainless-steel screw seat allows suitably selected wood and chipboard screws to be used. In panel materials, selected metric screws, threaded rods or hooks may also be used together with a lock nut.
When should you choose the DuoTec 10?
This version is suitable when the panel thickness is between 9.5 and 55 mm, there is at least 40 mm of free space behind the panel and the planned installation allows the use of a screw with a diameter of 4.5–5.0 mm.
DuoTec 10 requires a drill hole with a diameter of only 10 mm. Its short toggle element facilitates installation in narrow cavities and in some partitions containing insulation. Before installation, make sure that the fixing can pass freely through the hole and rotate correctly behind the panel.
How to install the Fischer DuoTec 10
Drill a hole with a diameter of 10 mm in the panel. The curved end of the installation strap can be used to check the space behind the panel and detect possible obstacles before inserting the fixing.
Position the toggle element parallel to the installation strap and insert it through the hole. After passing behind the panel, the fixing rotates into its working position. Pull it against the rear surface of the panel, insert the collar sleeve into the drill hole and snap off the protruding part of the strap.
Install the item using a suitably selected screw with a diameter of 4.5–5.0 mm. The minimum screw length should be calculated using the following formula: panel thickness + fixture thickness + 20 mm.
Limitations and important installation information
Before drilling, make sure that there are no electrical cables, pipes, structural profiles or other obstacles in the drilling area. There must be at least 40 mm of free space behind the panel to allow the toggle element to rotate correctly.
A single universal load-bearing value should not be assigned to the fixing. The permissible load depends on the type, thickness and condition of the panel, the screw used, the direction of the load, the distance from the edge and the quality of installation. For applications requiring a specified load capacity, consult the current Fischer load tables for the relevant substrate.

FAQ
Is the Fischer DuoTec 10 suitable for plasterboard?
Yes. The fixing is designed for plasterboard with a thickness of 9.5 to 55 mm, among other panel materials. There must be at least 40 mm of free space behind the panel.
Are screws included in the package?
No. The version with the Melkib SKU 00537258 contains 50 Fischer DuoTec 10 fixings without screws. Screws must be selected separately according to the substrate, the item being fixed and the expected load.
Which screw should be used with the Fischer DuoTec 10?
The manufacturer specifies a screw diameter of 4.5–5.0 mm. The minimum length should equal the combined thickness of the panel and fixture plus an additional 20 mm.
Can the DuoTec 10 be installed in OSB or MDF?
Yes. The fixing is designed for wood-based panels, including OSB, chipboard and MDF, provided that the required panel thickness range is observed and the fixing is installed correctly.
Can the Fischer DuoTec 10 be used in concrete or wood?
Yes. In solid substrates such as concrete or wood, the fixing can function as an expansion plug. Metric screws and threaded rods should not be used for this type of installation.
How many kilograms can the Fischer DuoTec 10 support?
There is no single value applicable to every installation. The load capacity depends on the type, thickness and condition of the substrate, the screw used, the direction of the load, the distance from the edge and the quality of installation. For applications requiring a specified load capacity, consult the current Fischer load tables for the relevant substrate.
Can the DuoTec 10 be used in a cavity containing insulation?
The short toggle element allows installation in some cavities containing insulation. Before installation, however, make sure that at least 40 mm of space is available and that the element can rotate freely behind the panel.
