Description
Special offer – the product expired in 06/2026
Important information: the product offered comes from a batch whose manufacturer-declared shelf life expired in June 2026. For this reason, it is available at a reduced price. After the expiry date, the manufacturer no longer guarantees that all parameters specified in the technical data sheet will be retained. We recommend carrying out a test on a small area before use.
TEROSON MS 9220 – flexible bonding and sealing
TEROSON MS 9220 is a black, one-component MS polymer-based adhesive sealant designed for flexible bonding and sealing. It cures by reacting with moisture from the air, forming a flexible joint.
Its thixotropic, paste-like consistency limits sagging after application. The product provides high initial tack and good resistance to UV radiation and weathering, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
TEROSON MS 9220 does not contain solvents, isocyanates, silicones or PVC. It has a mild odour before curing and is odourless once cured.
Applications
TEROSON MS 9220 is intended for work requiring simultaneous bonding and sealing. Typical applications include:
- vehicle body production and repair,
- vehicle body construction and conversion,
- bus and caravan production,
- shipbuilding and boatbuilding,
- assembly of metal structures,
- flexible bonding of components exposed to vibration and changing weather conditions,
- sealing joints and assembly gaps.
Suitable substrates
The product adheres to many materials, including:
- stainless steel,
- aluminium,
- galvanised sheet metal and other metals,
- painted surfaces,
- wood,
- glass,
- ceramics,
- most plastics.
The product is not suitable for bonding PTFE, PE, PP or blends containing these polymers. Due to the variety of plastics and surface coatings, an adhesion test should be carried out before making the final bond.
Key features
- ready-to-use one-component formulation,
- MS polymer-based technology,
- flexible joint after curing,
- high initial tack,
- thixotropic consistency that limits sagging,
- moisture-curing technology,
- good resistance to UV radiation and weathering,
- suitable for indoor and outdoor use,
- good adhesion to many metals and painted surfaces,
- free from solvents, isocyanates, silicones and PVC,
- mild odour before curing and odourless after curing.
Surface preparation
The surfaces to be joined must be clean, dry and thoroughly degreased. Remove dust, oil, grease, loose coatings and other contamination that could reduce adhesion.
If the product has been stored at a low temperature, allow it to reach room temperature before application. A low product temperature increases viscosity and makes extrusion more difficult. Do not apply the product to surfaces on which moisture condensation is present.
Directions for use
- Clean, dry and degrease the surfaces to be joined.
- Place the cartridge in a suitable manual or pneumatic dispensing gun.
- Cut the cartridge nozzle and adjust the opening to the required bead width.
- Apply an even bead of the product to the prepared surface.
- Join the components before a skin forms on the adhesive surface.
- Secure the components if required by their weight, geometry or installation conditions.
Skin formation time and curing speed depend on temperature, air humidity and joint thickness. Higher temperature and humidity accelerate curing, while low temperature and low humidity slow it down. Ensure adequate ventilation when curing the product in enclosed spaces.

FAQ
Why is TEROSON MS 9220 offered at a reduced price?
The product offered comes from a batch whose manufacturer-declared shelf life expired in June 2026. This information is included in the description and is the reason for the reduced price.
Will the expired product retain the parameters stated in the table?
This cannot be guaranteed. The technical parameters are taken from the manufacturer’s documentation and apply to a product used within its declared shelf life and stored under the recommended conditions. An application test should be carried out before use after the expiry date.
Can TEROSON MS 9220 be used outdoors?
Yes. When properly cured, the product offers good resistance to UV radiation and weathering. However, for the offered expired batch, its curing and adhesion should be tested before use.
Is the product suitable for aluminium and stainless steel?
Yes. TEROSON MS 9220 is intended for bonding and sealing aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised sheet metal, other metals and painted surfaces. The substrates must be clean, dry and degreased.
Is TEROSON MS 9220 suitable for PE, PP or PTFE?
No. The manufacturer excludes PTFE, PE, PP and blends containing these polymers. An adhesion test is recommended for other plastics.
How quickly does TEROSON MS 9220 cure?
At 23°C and 50% relative humidity, a skin forms after approximately 6 minutes and the curing speed is approximately 3.5 mm within 24 hours. The actual curing time depends on temperature, humidity and joint thickness.
