TESA ACXplus 7078 High Resistance, double-sided acrylic foam tape 2000 µm, black, 18 m × 9 mm, outdoor-grade, temperature- and chemical-resistant
Description
TESA ACXplus 7078 High Resistance is a black, double-sided acrylic foam tape with a 2000 µm thickness in an 18 m × 9 mm size. Its high-performance acrylic system delivers very high bonding power, stress dissipation and resistance to temperature and weathering. The product is designed for durable outdoor applications.
Benefits and unique features
- Thick 2.0 mm acrylic foam — secure bonding and vibration damping
- Temperature resistance: 120 °C (long-term) / 220 °C (short-term)
- Exceptional thermal-shock resistance down to −40 °C
- High outdoor durability: UV, chemicals, salt water and cleaning agents
- Viscoelastic core — compensates differential thermal expansion and dissipates stress
Properties and applications
- Stiffening and mounting profiles: long-lasting bonds and vibration damping.
- Wall housings and panels: strong, flexible outdoor bonding.
- Decorative parts & door panels: clean, inconspicuous joints.
- Application tip: on demanding substrates, use a suitable tesa Adhesion Promoter matched to the material.

Storage recommendations
Store in a clean, dry and cool place away from UV and heat sources, in the original packaging. Clean and degrease the substrate before application; run a bonding test on the target material. Use a suitable tesa Adhesion Promoter on demanding surfaces.
FAQ
1) What is the tape thickness?
2000 µm (2.0 mm) acrylic foam.
2) Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, it is engineered for durable outdoor applications with exposure to UV, chemicals and salt water.
3) What adhesion levels can I expect?
To steel: ~20 N/cm initially, ~37 N/cm after 3 and 14 days; to ABS ~7→9 N/cm; to PP ~2→2 N/cm.
4) What are the temperature limits?
120 °C long-term and 220 °C short-term; thermal-shock resistance down to −40 °C.
5) Do I need an adhesion promoter?
Recommended for demanding substrates — select based on the material.
