Product description

Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 120 FUS – frame fixing for fastening metal to concrete and masonry

Need to fasten a profile, bracket, support or another metal component to concrete or masonry? Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 120 FUS is designed with exactly these applications in mind. The FUS version uses a pre-assembled screw with a hex head and formed washer, providing a broad clamping surface and making installation with a wrench particularly convenient.

The fixing has a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 120 mm. The two-component DuoXpand design adapts its expansion behaviour to the building material, allowing the same fixing to be used in concrete as well as in different types of masonry.

The offer includes 1 piece of Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 120 FUS frame fixing with the matching pre-assembled screw.

Why is the FUS version well suited to metal components?

The key difference compared with the T version is the screw head. DuoXpand FUS uses a hex head with washer. This makes it particularly practical for fastening profiles, angle brackets, supports, holders, rails and other components where a larger clamping surface is useful.

The screw can be driven using TX40 or SW13, giving flexibility in tool selection depending on the installation space.

What can Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 120 FUS be used for?

The 10 x 120 FUS version is intended for push-through installation. Typical applications include:

  • metal profiles and substructures,
  • brackets and supports,
  • façade, ceiling and roof substructures,
  • window and door frames,
  • gates and fitted structures,
  • mounting brackets and supports,
  • cable ducts and cable trays,
  • wooden components requiring fastening with a hex-head screw.

Two anchorage depths – easier adaptation to the substrate

Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 120 FUS can be installed using two anchorage depths. At an anchorage depth of 50 mm, the usable length is up to 70 mm. At an anchorage depth of 70 mm, the usable length is up to 50 mm.

This allows the same fixing to be matched to different fixture thicknesses and substrate conditions without changing the drilling diameter. A 10 mm drill bit is required in both cases.

How does DuoXpand work in masonry and porous materials?

The grey body made of high-quality nylon provides strength, while the red component increases the flexibility of the expansion zone. The special lamella geometry enables controlled and gentle expansion in the building material. This is particularly useful in porous substrates and helps reduce stress on the material near edges.

Side ribs help prevent the fixing from rotating in the drill hole while the screw is tightened.

Building materials

The Fischer DuoXpand system is designed for fastening in concrete and different types of masonry. The manufacturer specifies applications including:

  • concrete from C12/15,
  • solid brick,
  • perforated brick and hollow masonry units,
  • solid and perforated sand-lime masonry units,
  • lightweight concrete blocks,
  • aerated concrete,
  • natural stone with a dense structure,
  • solid gypsum panels.

FUS or T – which DuoXpand version should you choose?

If you are fastening a profile, bracket or another metal component, the FUS version with a hex-head screw and washer is a practical choice. If a flush screw head is required, for example in a wooden component, the DuoXpand T version with a countersunk head screw may be more suitable.
