WIKO penetrating rust remover with MoS₂ for seized bolts 400 ml
Description
WIKO rust remover with MoS₂ for seized bolts and corroded connections
WIKO penetrating rust remover with MoS₂ 400 ml is designed to loosen seized, rusted and corroded metal connections. Its high capillary action and good creeping properties allow it to reach narrow gaps between mating components, helping to loosen bolts, nuts and pins without excessive mechanical force.
The product combines penetrating action with lubrication and protection against renewed corrosion. Molybdenum disulphide MoS₂ supports its lubricating properties, allowing WIKO 100143 to be used not only for releasing corroded connections but also for maintaining selected moving metal components.
Applications of WIKO rust remover 100143
The product is primarily intended for releasing corroded bolts, nuts, pins, hinges and other metal connections that are difficult to dismantle because of rust or prolonged operation.
WIKO rust remover with MoS₂ can be used during the repair, maintenance and inspection of machines, equipment, vehicles and technical structures. The manufacturer also specifies lubrication of sliding surfaces, Bowden cables, brake-linkage joints and chains as well as the reduction of squeaking in moving components.
What makes WIKO rust remover with MoS₂ different
The key property of the product is its ability to penetrate very narrow spaces. It spreads within the corroded connection and reaches between mating surfaces, helping to reduce resistance during loosening or separation.
Its action does not end after the connection has been released. The product also leaves a lubricating layer and supports protection against renewed corrosion. This is useful when components are to be reassembled after servicing or remain exposed to moisture.
When to choose WIKO 100143
Choose this product when a connection has already been blocked by corrosion and a penetrating agent is needed to reach the gap between a thread and a nut. It is suitable for bolts and pins where dry removal could increase the risk of damaging the thread, breaking the bolt head or deforming the component.
WIKO 100143 is suitable for routine servicing in maintenance departments, workshops, production plants and vehicle maintenance. It should not be confused with a liquid rust-removal bath designed to chemically remove rust from large surfaces down to bare metal.
How to use WIKO rust remover with MoS₂
Shake the can vigorously before use. Apply enough product to the corroded connection to wet the area into which it needs to penetrate. Allow sufficient time for the product to work before attempting to loosen or separate the components.
Heavily seized connections may require another application and a longer penetration time. Remove loose contamination and thick surface rust mechanically beforehand to help the product reach the actual gap more effectively.
Important information before use
Do not spray the product onto hot surfaces or energised electrical components. When working on braking systems, apply it only to appropriate moving joints and cables that require lubrication. Do not contaminate brake discs, drums, pads, shoes or other friction surfaces.
The range from 0°C to +50°C stated in the documentation refers to product application conditions. It does not define the operating temperature of every lubricated component or the thermal resistance of the remaining film. Use the product in accordance with its label and current safety data sheet.

FAQ
Will WIKO 100143 help loosen a seized bolt?
Yes. The product is designed to penetrate and loosen seized or corroded threaded connections. Allow sufficient time after application for it to reach the thread gap.
Does WIKO rust remover completely remove rust from a metal surface?
No. It is not an immersion bath or chemical treatment for cleaning entire surfaces down to bare metal. Its primary purpose is to penetrate corroded connections and assist their dismantling.
What is the purpose of the MoS₂ additive?
Molybdenum disulphide supports the lubricating properties of the product. It allows the agent to penetrate the connection while also reducing friction between mating components.
Does the product protect against renewed corrosion?
Yes. The manufacturer specifies anti-corrosion action that supports long-term protection against renewed rust formation.
Can WIKO 100143 be used on chains?
The manufacturer lists chains among the product applications. For continuous lubrication of fast-running or heavily loaded chains a dedicated chain lubricant with suitable adhesion may be a better choice.
Can the product be used on braking systems?
Only on appropriate linkage joints and cables that require lubrication. Do not apply it to brake discs, drums, pads, shoes or any other friction surfaces.
Can it be applied to hot components?
No. Do not spray an aerosol product onto hot surfaces. The documentation specifies an application temperature range from 0°C to +50°C.
