Product description
Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 160 FUS – long frame fixing for profiles, brackets and metal structures
When fastening a thick profile, bracket, rail or metal substructure and a standard frame fixing is too short, Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 160 FUS provides additional installation flexibility. Its 160 mm length and three available anchorage depths make it possible to adapt the fixing to both the thickness of the fixture and the substrate conditions.
The FUS version is supplied with a pre-assembled screw with a hex head and integrated washer. This design is particularly practical for fastening metal components to concrete and masonry because it provides a broad clamping surface and allows convenient installation using either a wrench or a bit.
The offer includes 1 piece of Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 160 FUS frame fixing with the matching pre-assembled screw.
Three anchorage depths – one fixing for different installation conditions
The 10 x 160 FUS version can be used with three anchorage depths:
- 50 mm – usable length up to 110 mm,
- 70 mm – usable length up to 90 mm,
- 140 mm – usable length up to 20 mm.
This allows the same fixing to be used both for thicker fixtures with a shallower anchorage depth and for applications requiring significantly deeper anchorage in the building material.
What is the FUS version suitable for?
Fischer DuoXpand 10 x 160 FUS is particularly useful for fastening:
- metal profiles and substructures,
- brackets and supports,
- rails and mounting components,
- façade, roof and ceiling substructures,
- window and door frames,
- gates and fitted structures,
- cable ducts and cable trays,
- wooden components where a hex-head screw with washer is preferred.
Why choose FUS instead of T?
The FUS version uses a hex-head screw with an integrated washer, making it particularly suitable for metal components and applications where a defined clamping surface is required. The T version uses a countersunk-head screw and is more suitable where the screw head needs to sit flush with the surface, for example in timber.
How does DuoXpand work in the substrate?
The two-component design combines a grey body made of high-quality nylon with a more flexible red component in the expansion zone. The special lamella geometry adapts the expansion behaviour to the building material.
In solid materials, the load is distributed evenly into the substrate. In hollow masonry, the lamellae expand against the internal walls of the building material and create an interlocking connection in the cavity. Side ribs help prevent the fixing from rotating in the drill hole during tightening.
Building materials
The Fischer DuoXpand system is designed for multiple fastening of non-structural systems in concrete and masonry. Suitable substrates specified by the manufacturer include:
- concrete from C12/15,
- solid brick,
- solid sand-lime brick,
- solid blocks made of lightweight and normal-weight concrete,
- vertically perforated brick,
- perforated sand-lime brick,
- hollow blocks made of lightweight concrete,
- aerated concrete.
According to the manufacturer's documentation, the fixing can also be used in natural stone with a dense structure and solid gypsum panels.
