Product description
Fischer FPX M12-I – aerated concrete anchor with M12 internal thread
Fischer FPX M12-I is a mechanical steel anchor designed for fastening in autoclaved aerated concrete. The M12 version provides an internal thread for use with a suitably selected M12 threaded element and is intended for applications where this connection size is required.
During installation, the anchor expands in four directions and creates an undercut in the aerated concrete. The square expansion sleeve helps prevent the anchor from rotating in the drill hole, while the installation mechanism allows controlled expansion of the fixing.
FPX M12-I – when is an M12 thread required?
This version should be selected when the fixture or connection design requires an M12 internal thread. For FPX M12-I, the manufacturer specifies a minimum insertion depth of 12 mm and a maximum insertion depth of 15 mm for the M12 threaded element. This allows the mating component to be selected according to the geometry of the specific fixing.
Applications in aerated concrete
The FPX-I system is designed for fastening in aerated concrete and can be used, among other applications, for suspended ceilings, cable trays, pipes, ventilation ducts, railings and handrails, brackets, cabinets and stand-off installations.
The scope of the European Technical Assessment covers aerated concrete within the parameters defined in ETA-12/0456, including wall and ceiling elements made of autoclaved aerated concrete. For safety-relevant fixings, the exact approval scope and load tables should always be checked.
How is FPX M12-I installed?
For FPX M12-I, the manufacturer specifies a 10 mm drill hole with a minimum depth of 95 mm. The anchor is 75 mm long and the minimum anchorage depth is 70 mm.
FPX-I is designed for pre-positioned installation. After drilling the hole, the anchor is inserted into the substrate and then activated through the internal hex drive. The cone is drawn into the expansion sleeve, causing the anchor to expand in four directions. The manufacturer states that standard installation does not require cleaning of the drill hole.

Selecting the correct fixing
The M12 thread size alone does not determine the permissible load of the anchor. Load capacity depends, among other factors, on the properties of the aerated concrete, substrate geometry, anchor spacing, edge distances and load direction. The fixing should be selected using ETA-12/0456 and the manufacturer's current load tables.
FAQ
What is the main difference between FPX M12-I and FPX M8-I?
The key difference is the internal thread size. FPX M12-I has an M12 thread, and the manufacturer specifies an insertion depth of 12–15 mm for the mating threaded element.
Which substrate is FPX M12-I designed for?
The anchor is designed for fastening in aerated concrete, including autoclaved aerated concrete within the scope of ETA-12/0456.
What drill bit is required for FPX M12-I?
The manufacturer specifies a 10 mm drill hole.
How deep should the drill hole be?
The minimum drill hole depth is 95 mm, while the minimum anchorage depth is 70 mm.
How far should the M12 threaded element be inserted?
The specified insertion depth is between 12 and 15 mm.
Does the larger M12 thread automatically mean a higher load capacity?
No. The permissible load must be determined for the specific substrate and fixing geometry according to the ETA and the manufacturer's load tables.
How many anchors are included in product 00519024?
The pack contains 25 Fischer FPX M12-I anchors.
