Correct selection of a metalworking coolant is key to reducing tool wear, extending the life of the emulsion, and protecting the material and machine against corrosion. Good quality coolant protects the cutting tools better, which significantly reduces their wear. In this case, the content of EP (extreme pressure additives) and AW (antiwear additives) is very important. To stop the growth of fungi and bacteria in the processing emulsion, it is important to maintain the correct pH level - optimally 9.

Which coolant to choose?

The coolant should be selected for the given machining process and the material to be processed. Unfortunately, there is no "best-for-all" coolant, but there are some relatively versatile products. A very good quality universal coolant is Zubora 65 H Ultra, which allows machining of black steel, cast iron, tool steel, brass, aluminum and stainless steel. If you have doubts about the best coolant for you, please contact us - we will try to help.

Mineral, synthetic or semi-synthetic coolant?

There is no simple answer to this question. As a rule, mineral coolants are cheaper than synthetic products. Contrary to popular belief, synthetic products are not the best solution in many cases, despite their many advantages. Semi-synthetic coolants combine the advantages of mineral and synthetic coolants. It is important to maintain the right balance between the content of mineral oil and synthetic oil in the coolant.

Miscible (emulsifying) or water-immiscible (non-emulsifying) coolant?

The coolant should be selected according to the specificity of the machine. The manufacturer should provide the recommended type of coolant for a given device in the instructions. Emulsifying coolants are in most cases cheaper to operate than non-emulsifying coolants due to the use of water in the preparation of the emulsion. On the other hand, water-miscible coolants require regular checking of the pH level, concentration of the emulsion and maintaining a greater work culture in order for the coolant to maintain its parameters. On the other hand, non-emulsifying coolants are usually more durable.

Process oils

We offer oils for hardening, pressing, broaching, extrusion, turning, milling, drilling and grinding. They allow the processing of a wide range of materials: aluminum, black steel, stainless steel, brass, cast iron, etc.
