Description

MOLYKOTE D-321 R Anti-Friction Coating 5 kg is an air-drying dry-film lubricant for metal. It forms a thin, durable low-friction layer that prevents stick-slip and provides long-term wear protection in industrial applications.

Benefits and unique features

  • Air-dries at room temperature – fast process, no oven needed
  • Prevents stick-slip with high ageing resistance
  • Service temperature from −180 to +450 °C
  • Excellent under slow/oscillating motion and high loads
  • Ready for spray or brush; can be thinned with a suitable thinner

Properties and applications

  • Applications: heavy-duty sliding guides, metal-to-metal contacts with slow/ intermittent motion, gear running-in, cylinder-head bolts, mirror adjustment mechanisms, high-voltage switches, emergency lubrication of wind-turbine rotor parts.
  • Surface prep: degrease thoroughly; phosphating or ~180-grit blasting significantly increases adhesion and service life.
  • Application & thickness: spray/brush; target 5–20 µm dry film.
  • Curing/drying: about 5 min at 23 °C to handling dry.
  • HSE: solvent-borne product—ensure ventilation, avoid vapours/aerosol and skin/eye contact; vapours may form explosive mixtures.
