MOLYKOTE D-321 R 5 kg, air-drying anti-friction coating, 5–20 µm, −180–450 °C
Description
MOLYKOTE D-321 R Anti-Friction Coating 5 kg is an air-drying dry-film lubricant for metal. It forms a thin, durable low-friction layer that prevents stick-slip and provides long-term wear protection in industrial applications.
Benefits and unique features
- Air-dries at room temperature – fast process, no oven needed
- Prevents stick-slip with high ageing resistance
- Service temperature from −180 to +450 °C
- Excellent under slow/oscillating motion and high loads
- Ready for spray or brush; can be thinned with a suitable thinner
Properties and applications
- Applications: heavy-duty sliding guides, metal-to-metal contacts with slow/ intermittent motion, gear running-in, cylinder-head bolts, mirror adjustment mechanisms, high-voltage switches, emergency lubrication of wind-turbine rotor parts.
- Surface prep: degrease thoroughly; phosphating or ~180-grit blasting significantly increases adhesion and service life.
- Application & thickness: spray/brush; target 5–20 µm dry film.
- Curing/drying: about 5 min at 23 °C to handling dry.
- HSE: solvent-borne product—ensure ventilation, avoid vapours/aerosol and skin/eye contact; vapours may form explosive mixtures.
