Anderol 555 20L synthetic compressor oil ISO VG 100 di-ester based for compressors and vacuum pumps
Description
Anderol 555 20L is an ISO VG 100 synthetic di-ester based compressor lubricant designed for long-term lubrication of air and process gas compressors and vacuum pumps. Its high thermal stability and excellent anti-wear properties help to reduce maintenance downtime and keep equipment operating efficiently.
Benefits and unique features
- Synthetic di-ester base ISO VG 100 provides stable viscosity over a wide temperature range.
- No metal additives, minimising the risk of interference with catalytic processes.
- Extended oil drain intervals and reduced maintenance costs.
- Rapid separation of condensed water helps to limit corrosion of system components.
- Low tendency to form varnish and deposits, keeping valves and flow passages clean.
- Reduced oil consumption and lower energy demand of the compressor.
- High oxidation stability and very good lubricity at elevated operating temperatures.
Properties and applications
- Use in compressors and vacuum pumps: intended for cylinder and crankcase lubrication of reciprocating compressors, vane compressors and vacuum pumps operating with air and various process gases.
- Operation with different gases: suitable for compression of air, natural gas, methane, butadiene, ethylene, dry carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen and propane according to the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Wide operating temperature range: nominal operating range from approximately -15 °C to 210 °C enables use in demanding thermal conditions.
- Low pour point: pour point of about -33 °C facilitates start-up in cooler environments.
- High flash point: flash point of about 250 °C reduces fire risk and supports safe operation of the installation.
- Material compatibility: fully miscible with mineral oils (although dilution reduces performance) and compatible with many elastomers and coatings listed as recommended materials.

Storage recommendations
Store Anderol 555 in its original closed containers in a dry and clean area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Protect the product from contamination with water, dust and foreign oils or chemicals. After opening, it is advisable to use the oil within a reasonable time and always close the container carefully to limit exposure to air and moisture.
FAQ
1) For which equipment is Anderol 555 best suited?
The oil is intended for lubrication of air and process gas compressors (reciprocating and vane) and vacuum pumps wherever the equipment manufacturer specifies a synthetic ISO VG 100 compressor oil.
2) What is the operating temperature range of this oil?
The nominal operating range is approximately -15 °C to 210 °C, allowing use both in cooler environments and at elevated compression temperatures.
3) Can Anderol 555 be mixed with mineral oils?
The oil is fully miscible with conventional mineral oils; however, mixing will significantly reduce the performance advantages of the synthetic lubricant, so systems should be drained and flushed as thoroughly as practical when converting.
4) What does ISO VG 100 mean in practice?
ISO VG 100 denotes a kinematic viscosity of about 100 mm²/s at 40 °C. In practice, this is a widely used viscosity grade for compressors and vacuum pumps, providing a stable lubricating film and effective cooling of working components.
